Student Placement Process
- Students enrolling will be placed in grade level based on their previous academic record or their chronological age.
- All students enrolling in HTA will be required to take the pre-assessment. This is a computer-adaptive assessment which allows us to pin-point the proficiency level of a (child’s) accomplishment level. This will provide valuable information to help us further determine your child’s placement and success in our hybrid model of education that you have chosen.
- All students will be assessed at their grade level placement and not their curriculum placement.
- Curriculum level placement decisions are made by the Placement Team and are made in the best interest of the student.
- Students enrolling will be placed in curriculum at grade level unless a placement change is authorized by the Placement Team and approved by our Head of School.
- Students will be placed no more than two grade levels below their actual grade level (In Math and Language Arts - all other curriculum is assigned at grade level).
- The school has the authority to determine the placement based upon the placement tests as well as a review of previous academic records.
High School Placement Process
- HTA must have transcripts from previous schools prior to determining placement.
- HTA has the authority to review report cards and transcripts to determine courses.
- HTA will require placement test to be completed before students are placed in curriculum.
